About the position:
AMCHP’s Women’s and Infant Health team aspires to be a bridge between entities who wish to change the status quo. We strongly believe that reproductive, maternal, and infant health should be understood as a continuum. This position supports AMCHP member capacity to sustain transformational partnerships with community-rooted organizations, programs, and thought leaders to advance equity in reproductive and perinatal health. The Program Analyst implements and evaluates program activities that impact health outcomes across the life course and disrupt sources of historical, structural, and institutional racism and oppression in governmental public health agencies and health systems that drive inequities in sexual and reproductive wellbeing and maternal health. The position reports to the Associate Director, Women’s and Infant Health.
What you’ll get to do:
- Partner with innovative, creative, and driven AMCHP staff members to support the administration of compassionate and equity-centered peer learning collaborative spaces, including the Safer Childbirth Cities Initiative Community of Practice
- Track sexual, reproductive, and perinatal health initiatives across the country and identify emerging issues and evidence-informed practices
- Develop written reports, fact sheets, and/or articles and presentations to share project learnings and activities while ensuring the ideas, insights, and expertise exchanged between organizations is respected, acknowledged, protected, and uplifted amidst complex power dynamics
- Partner with AMCHP communications staff to creatively and actively promote project information and other pertinent information through AMCHP’s website, social media, podcasts, newsletters, and other communication tools
- Provide technical assistance for AMCHP members and other organizations related to improving the mental, emotional, and physical health of women and their families and identify and connect AMCHP members and partners with national experts shaping racial justice in sexual, reproductive, and perinatal health
- Support AMCHP staff in the development of proposals for grant-funded programs and the preparation of required status reports for project officers, AMCHP leaders, and partners
- Support implementation of AMCHP’s strategic and operational plans. This includes aligning projects and activities with strategic goals, cross-cutting organizational initiatives, and fostering continuous quality improvement on organizational performance measures related to the position’s scope of work
