Throughout the course of this research project, the participant will receive training in the CDC Division of Cancer Prevention and Control Office of Policy, Partnerships, and Communication, focusing on activities related to the division’s three health communication campaigns: Bring Your Brave, Inside Knowledge, and Screen for Life. These activities include:

  • Contributing to needs assessments and literature reviews for target audiences
  • Participating in the identification of gaps in existing materials and channels that reach intended campaign audiences
  • Designing and developing qualitative and quantitative research and evaluation protocols and data collection instruments
  • Conducting qualitative and quantitative data analysis
  • Developing and/or editing messages and materials to address needs of specific populations based on these findings
  • Developing presentations and write manuscripts to present findings to internal and external stakeholders
  • Learning about cancer prevention and control issues through attending advisory committee meetings, relevant conferences, presentations, and staff meetings
  • Participating in communication activities to educate and inform audiences about cancer prevention and control within the scope of the division’s mission
