The fellow will conduct programmatic activities under the mentorship of the Adversity Prevention and Implementation Practice Team (APIPT) Lead. The APIPT team aims to prevent or reduce the severity of adverse events and experiences related to abuse, neglect, and other forms of violence through evidence-based programs, policies, and practices; and applies implementation research to meet the unique needs of people and communities to achieve equitable and improved outcomes. The team currently supports three primary programs. The fellow will contribute research to one of these programs: Preventing Violence Affecting Young Lives (PREVAYL). The PREVAYL program is a 5-year cooperative agreement that funds recipients to address multiple forms of violence impacting adolescents and young adults in communities with high rates of violence. The fellow will collaborate closely with members of the PREVAYL program.
The fellow will support the APIPT Team Lead and team members to provide support and assistance with program evaluation and participate in cross-site evaluation activities to assess the effectiveness of the PREVAYL program. Although the fellow will be mentored by the Team Lead, they will have an opportunity to collaborate and train with project and evaluation officers.
