Contract Specialist I


The Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance Use Services (DMHDDSUS) is the State agency responsible for overseeing the administration of publicly funded behavioral health system and services for individuals who are uninsured or under-insured.  DMHDDSUS receives funding for programs through federal grants and state appropriations and administers these funds through Local Management Entities/Managed Care Organizations (LME/MCOs), other state agencies, and community organizations.

  • Assist in the analysis of contract requirements and special provisions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, and business unit procedures.
  • Assist with drafting and negotiating contractual Requests for Quotes (RFQs), Requests for Applications (RFAs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), contract amendments, contract revisions, etc.
  • Assist business owners in developing, clarifying and overseeing performance measures, deliverables, standards and effective evaluation criteria.
  • Ensure contract review, approval and execution are in accordance with unit guidelines.
  • Prepare, organize and maintain contract records and files documenting contract performance and compliance.
  • Perform contract closeout activities.
  • Communicate contract policy and practice to internal business owners.
