Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator the project coordinator assists with the development and implementation of and education and training program. This program’s overarching goal is to meet the HIV prevention needs of Black women.

Representative Duties:

Coordinates research study implementation

  • Coordinates and oversees day-to-day operations of the program including recruitment and retention, data storage and monitoring, and other programmatic activities as needed.
  • Assists with the development and management of data collection and management tools, providing support and training to program staff
  • Oversees the management of program-specific documents according to guidelines of the reviewing Institutional Review Board (IRB), NIH and/or program sponsor.
  • Liaises with other program sites and collaborators to provide support and ensure the successful completion of the program’s tasks and goals.
  • Tracks program activities and develops agenda for weekly team meeting and facilitates regular team meetings and supervision of research assistants.
  • Actively participates in all programs related conference calls and attends operations meetings.
  • Assists in the supervision and training of program staff and administration of informed consents and assessments and the collection/management of participant data

Assists with the recruitment, screening, interviewing, and retention of program volunteers

  • Works closely with the PI to identify creative and effective measures for reaching potential participants
  • Oversees and partakes in recruitment efforts to reach recruitment goals
  • Assesses and documents eligibility and participation status of candidates and arranges baseline and follow-up appointments with potential and enrolled participants
  • Conducts interviews/trainings with program participants in a clear, open-minded, non-judgmental context
  • Develops and implements strategies to ensure and enhance participant retention
  • Completes the day-to-day tasks of program related retention including calling participants and interfacing with Fenway staff

Assists with the development of regulatory procedures and programmatic materials

  • Assists with the development of Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions, and provides annual reports according to the reviewing IRB policies and procedures
  • Drafts and edits program materials including recruitment and screening materials, training materials, program and site-specific protocols, etc.
  • Maintains program participant accountability records according to protocol and communicates necessary changes or activities to program staff and investigators.
  • Performs quality control and assurance checks of programmatic documents and assures that corrections are made per operating procedures
  • Maintains regulatory documents per IRB, sponsor, and agency guidelines
