The Manager, Population Health Data will work within the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH), Office of Science with primary responsibilities to lead collaborative projects between the AIDS Institute (AI); Public Health Information Group, in the Office of Science; and the Office of Minority Health and Health Disparities Prevention (OMH-HDP) to support the development and implementation of the State Health Improvement Plan. The incumbent will lead and manage a major part of data analytic efforts to facilitate the development of health needs assessments and health improvement plans at state and local levels; significantly contribute to the plans’ implementation; analyze and evaluate progress made against the Prevention Agenda objectives; and evaluate intervention effectiveness. The incumbent will develop plans and manage various analytical projects, establish and strengthen collaborations with program partners and oversee report development to promote health equity initiatives of the OMH-HDP and the Office of Science. The incumbent will cultivate and expand the utilization of data for assessing health disparities and inequity to support major areas of population health for the purpose of identifying issues of concern and developing programmatic recommendations to address these disparities. The incumbent will review and utilize results from the various projects to promote the development of appropriate plans and recommendations for Local Health Department-related performance improvement projects. The incumbent will prove overall coordination and facilitate and manage data collection and analytic projects among the Division of Family Health, the OMH-HDP and the Office of Quality and Patient Safety; and provide technical expertise on methods to analyze data and present results, and expertise in designing public facing dashboard and datasets. The incumbent will also provide guidance and supervision to staff and perform other appropriate related duties as assigned.
