The Office of Statistics and Evaluation (OSE) within the Bureau of Community Health and Prevention (BCHAP) at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH), seeks to hire an Epidemiologist to primarily support the Health Care Workforce Center (HCWC) and Office of Oral Health (OOH).  The Oral Health and Healthcare Workforce Epidemiologist will be responsible for developing and implementing data collection systems, database management, data analysis, report preparation and data dissemination, and provision of technical assistance to contracted agencies.

The selected candidate will work closely with program staff, lead and conduct data collection and analysis, program and policy evaluation, data interpretation, and develop data visualization and dissemination products for diverse audiences. The position will also closely collaborate with other epidemiologists in the Bureau to support cross-cutting work and initiatives.

The OSE, OOH and HCWC teams acknowledge the history and persistence of structural racism in the United States and its impact on health, including oral health, healthcare access and workforce.  The Oral Health and Healthcare Workforce Epidemiologist will also apply a structural analysis of systemic and historical racism and the resulting health inequities and apply this lens to their work in oral health, healthcare access and workforce, tailoring epidemiologic activities to this analysis.
