Student Accessibility Services (SAS) is seeking Graduate students responsible for handling a wide variety of supports for students with documented disabilities. This particular graduate student role includes working closely with the SAS Administrative and Professional Staff to ensure the smooth operation of these supports, specifically the exam accommodations.

Major Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Exam Accommodation Logistics: Assisting with the management of requests from professors, staff, and students. Prepare laptops for students with laptop accommodations. Frequent communication via email with faculty and students regarding setup of exam logistics.
  • Note Taking/Scanning Accommodations: Monitoring the peer note taking system. Scanning documents to ensure accessibility.
  • General Office Support: If needed, this role may serve as front desk assistance to answer calls and greet guests, as well as special projects and office related errands on campus

Time Commitment

This role would typically work approximately 8-12 hours a week. We are seeking applicants available to work morning and/or afternoons. Additional hours may become available during high peak times.

Hours are generally during weekday hours, but vary depending on the number of requests and time of the semester. FInal exams include weekend days.

Job Qualifications and Skills and Abilities

  • Applicants need to be punctual, have excellent communication skills, and maintain a high level of confidentiality with student information and commitment to the integrity of exams.
  • Each SAS graduate student worker will need to sign a FERPA form at the time of hire.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced work environment. –
  • Functional knowledge of Google applications, such as Google Sheets and Gmail. – Basic computer skills, such as scanning, uploading files
  • Great time management skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently
  • Detail oriented with an ability to troubleshoot as needed
