The Social Intervention Research and Evaluation Network (SIREN), a research and dissemination center at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF), is seeking a part-time Research Analyst with expertise in designing and carrying out systematic literature reviews and interests in social determinants of health and health equity to join our small intellectually curious and mission-driven team.

This position will be responsible for maintaining SIREN’s Evidence and Resource Library (ERL), a database of research and resources on healthcare-based social interventions and for designing and conducting systematic reviews based on the database. The Analyst will work under the supervision of SIREN Co-director and in close collaboration with SIREN Team.

The Research Analyst will conduct a monthly systematic search for articles, reports, and other resources to include in the monthly SIREN newsletter and the SIREN ERL. This includes running the monthly search; identifying relevant articles; entering and indexing resources in the ERL; preparing lists of new research for inclusion in the monthly SIREN newsletter; conducting targeted searches to ensure completeness of collection; reviewing entries for accuracy; and working with our website vendor to maintain and improve processes to upload new resources into the ERL The Analyst will also regularly review the monthly search strategy to improve the efficient identification of relevant publications and resources.

The Research Analyst is also responsible for conducting systematic literature reviews, meta-analyses, and evidence syntheses related to social and medical care integration, including developing and conducting online database search strategies, registering protocols with PROSPERO, identifying studies, developing and applying inclusion/exclusion criteria, developing data extraction tools, performing data extraction and data analysis, preparing tables and flow diagrams to communicate and interpret results, and writing up findings for publication. The Analyst may also help SIREN develop a process for conducting Living Systematic Reviews to help SIREN disseminate updated evidence reviews on a regular basis.

The Research Analyst may also support other SIREN research projects by developing background summaries of the literature, helping collect quantitative and qualitative data, and performing both quantitative and qualitative analyses and syntheses for inclusion in research articles, research grant proposals and protocols, and reports. The Analyst will regularly attend SIREN team meetings, webinars, and Works-in-Progress sessions.
